Craft Usage Policy
As the season gets well underway and the weather warms up it is great to see so many members enjoying the beach on weeknights and weekends.
That the club invests a significant amount of money on maintaining quality equipment for patrolling, training and competition. This equipment must be cared for appropriately and the club has existing protocols on use of equipment.
Please make yourself familiar with the following and ensure you are supporting the club by reminding other members to follow club policy:
- Life Saving Boards/Mals are only to be used i) For Life Saving activities by appropriately qualified, active, proficient Bronze and SRC holders during recognised patrol activities and training/skills development. ii) By members under the supervision of Qualified club instructors during award training/skills development activities.
- Club Junior (Nipper) boards are only to be used i) By age appropriate Junior Club members participating in recognised junior training activities under the supervision of appropriately qualified coaches. (Minimum of one adult present). ii) During recognised Junior Surf Life Saving competitions.
- Club Senior boards/Mals are only to be used i) By active, proficient Bronze holding members for the purpose of training, fitness, skills development and Surf Life Saving competition. ii) By active, proficient SRC members for the purpose of training, fitness, skills development
(under the supervision of a Bronze holder) and for Surf Life Saving competition. iii) By Junior members (when age appropriate or at the discretion of the Board & Ski Coach if a junior has clearly outgrown a junior board) during recognised junior training under the supervision of appropriately qualified coaches and Surf Life Saving competition.
- Club Skis are only to be used i) By active, proficient Bronze holding members for the purpose of training, fitness, skills development and Surf Life Saving competitions ii) By 14 year old SRC members for the purpose of skills development (not training) under the supervision of the Board and Ski Coach or Coaching/Competition Captain as per SLSA policies.
- Note: Active, proficient Bronze holding members of other Surf Life Saving Clubs invited to join Moana members for the purpose of training and skills development may use club craft at the discretion of the Coaching/Competition Captain or Board & Ski Coach.
(Club Craft are not provided to members for play or recreation outside of the above purposes )
