Looking for an engaging and active community for your child? Become part of the Moana Surf Life Saving Club!
Surf lifesaving is an incredible way to build your child’s confidence while teaching essential knowledge and skills for staying safe at the beach.
Nippers is the perfect introduction, offering a fun environment where children can make lifelong friends, become part of a supportive community, and simply enjoy themselves.
Moana runs the Nippers program for children from 5-13. We have nippers on a Saturday afternoon every week, on a Saturday afternoon from 1.30-4pm. This involves our nippers education, surf skills development and beach awareness and safety.

AGE
GROUPS
U8,U9,U10,U11,U12,U13.
All Age groups are managed by a member, usually a parent who has completed the Age group manager’s course. This is a very easy process, and we like to have a male and a female for each age group.
Our parent community is crucial to the operation of nippers, and it is an expectation that all parents are involved in managing the nippers on a weekly basis. We have a junior coordinator who can be contacted at juniorcoordinator@moanaslsc.com.au
MINI MOES
Limit of 30 children.
The minis start each Saturday at 2.30pm and finish at 3.30pm. A parent is required to stay with their child for the duration of the session each week. We do provide each child with a bucket hat and a High Vis rash vest.
Their program is very game based.
WE RELY ON THE SUPPORT OF THE
PARENT COMMUNITY
We currently have the following operational tasks to be completed on a weekly basis:
Age Group Managing
Coaching
Administration tasks to support nippers membership renewals and carnival entries.
General helpers to carry gear along with the age group.
Setting up the beach, and packing it up at the end of each day.
BBQ cookers. We run a sausage sizzle for the nippers to have at the end of training.
MOANA
IS SOCIAL
We always try to open up our club room and the bar for parents and friends to socialise after the nippers have finished. This provides a great opportunity to meet new friends and network and join in the movement.
We do require all nipper parents to have a current WWCC. We are a safe environment and we thank you for helping us to provide a safe place for our most vulnerable groups of young people.
